Investment choices Three approaches to investing

Investing for retirement doesn’t have to be difficult. GuideStone offers three simple approaches to get started today. If you are a participant, please log in here.

One-choice approach
GuideStone MyDestination Funds™1 offer a simple, single-fund approach in planning for your retirement. Simply pick the fund that is closest to your retirement date and make consistent, appropriate contributions. Learn more about MyDestination Funds™.

Asset allocation approach
Similar to the GuideStone MyDestination Funds™, the Asset Allocation Funds1 are diversified "fund-of-funds." Unlike the MyDestination Funds™, however, investors will need to shift their fund allocations if they desire a more conservative approach over time. You simply pick the portfolio mix that meets your particular needs — aggressive, growth allocation, balanced or conservative. Learn more about the Asset Allocation Funds.

Build-your-own approach
Build your own portfolio using Select Funds and the GuideStone Financial Resources Capital Preservation Fund.

GuideStone Funds Select Funds
The Select Funds provide a more hands-on approach and allow you to invest in the funds with specific styles and objectives. Each Select Fund represents a particular type of fixed-income or equity investments — for example, short term bonds or international equities.  The majority of the Select Funds use a multi-manager approach by combining different investment management firms — sub-advisers — within a single select fund.  Learn more about the Select Funds.

GuideStone Financial Resources Capital Preservation Fund
The Capital Preservation Fund2 is for conservative investors who would like another low-risk investment option in addition to the fixed-income investments available through GuideStone Funds Select Funds.

1 The Asset Allocation Funds and the MyDestination Funds (“Funds”) attempt to achieve their objectives by investing in the GuideStone Select Funds. By investing in the Funds you will also incur the expenses and risks of the underlying Select Funds. The principal risks of the Funds will change depending on the asset mix of the Select Funds in which they invest. You may directly invest in the Select Funds. The Funds’ value will go up and down in response to changes in the share prices of the investments that they own. There is no guarantee that the Funds’ principal value will increase, including at the targeted date. It is possible to lose money by investing in the Funds.

The MyDestination Funds™ are managed to a retirement date, reflected in the name of the Funds, by adjusting the percentage of fixed income securities and equity securities to become more conservative each year until reaching the retirement year and then approximately 15 years thereafter. As a result, the Funds' objectives and investment strategies will change over time.

2The GuideStone Financial Resources Capital Preservation Fund may not be available to all investors. Please call 1-888-98-GUIDE  (1-888-984-8433), or visit with your employer to determine if you are eligible to invest in this Fund.
